Last month, I finally took a trip to Hoi An, a small town in central Vietnam that I had wanted to visit for years. I arrived on a Friday afternoon and immediately fell in love with the place. The Ancient Town is famous for its yellow French colonial buildings and colorful lanterns that light up the streets at night. On my first day, I took a walking tour of the old quarter. Our guide told us that Hoi An was once a busy trading port in the 15th century, and merchants from China, Japan, and Europe came here to do business. We visited the famous Japanese Covered Bridge, which is over 400 years old. The next morning, I joined a cooking class at a local restaurant. The chef taught us how to make banh mi and fresh spring rolls. In the afternoon, I rented a bicycle and rode to a nearby beach, which was quiet and beautiful. Before leaving, I bought a silk lantern as a gift for my sister. Hoi An is a perfect place for anyone who loves history, good food, and slow travel.

Good morning, everyone. I'm Sarah Thompson, the coordinator of the new Weekend Farmers' Market in Greenfield. I'm happy to announce that our market will officially open this Saturday, June 15th, at the town square on Main Street. The market will run every Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. and will feature over 30 local farmers and food producers. You can find fresh vegetables, fruits, homemade bread, local honey, and free-range eggs. We will also have live music from local artists between 10 a.m. and noon. We are proud to say that all our vendors come from within 50 kilometers of Greenfield, so you are supporting local businesses when you shop here. There will be free parking behind the community center, just one block from the square. Children are welcome, and we have a small play area near the entrance.
