Trong VSTEP Listening, đặc biệt Part 1 và Part 2, câu hỏi thường xoay quanh các con số: giờ giấc, ngày tháng, giá tiền, số điện thoại, địa chỉ. Nghe nhầm một số có thể mất điểm ngay lập tức.

5. Số điện thoại và địa chỉ
- Số điện thoại đọc từng số: 0-7-9-3 → "oh seven nine three"
- Số 0 đọc là "oh" (không phải "zero" trong số điện thoại)
- Hai số giống nhau: 77 → "double seven", 555 → "triple five"
- Địa chỉ: "42 Baker Street" → "forty-two Baker Street"
10 bài tập luyện nghe số liệu
Nhờ người khác đọc hoặc dùng text-to-speech. Ghi lại con số bạn nghe được, rồi kiểm tra đáp án.

Mẹo nghe số liệu trong VSTEP
- Đọc câu hỏi trước: Biết trước cần nghe số gì (giờ, giá, ngày) sẽ dễ bắt hơn
- Ghi nhanh bằng số: Không viết chữ "fifteen", viết "15" cho nhanh
- Cẩn thận "correction": Người nói có thể sửa lại: "at 3... sorry, at 3:30" — đáp án là 3:30
- Chú ý đơn vị: dollars vs pounds, AM vs PM, kilometers vs miles
