Part 1 — Cấu trúc câu trả lời hiệu quả
Part 1 kéo dài 3 phút, giám khảo hỏi 3-4 câu hỏi về chủ đề quen thuộc. Mỗi câu trả lời nên dài 3-5 câu (khoảng 30-50 từ). Bí quyết là sử dụng công thức A.R.E.
1. Công thức A.R.E. (Answer – Reason – Example)

3. Các cụm từ mở rộng (Extending phrases)
- Thêm lý do: "The main reason is...", "This is because...", "I think it's due to..."
- Thêm ví dụ: "For example,", "For instance,", "To give you an idea,", "Like when I..."
- Thêm tương phản: "Having said that,", "On the other hand,", "Although..."
- Kết luận: "So overall,", "All in all,", "That's why I..."
4. Ví dụ hoàn chỉnh
Q: What do you do in your free time?
"In my free time, I usually go for a run in the park near my house. (Answer) I find that running helps me clear my mind and stay healthy. (Reason) Last weekend, for example, I ran 5 kilometers and felt really refreshed afterwards. (Example) I also enjoy reading books, especially mystery novels."
Q: Do you prefer working alone or in a team?
"I'd say I prefer working in a team. (Answer) I think collaboration brings more creative ideas and makes the work more enjoyable. (Reason) For instance, in my last project, we brainstormed together and came up with solutions that none of us would have thought of individually. (Example)"
