Task 2: Cách viết thân bài — Topic Sentence và PEEL
Thân bài là phần quan trọng nhất, chiếm 60-70% số từ của bài luận. Mỗi đoạn thân bài cần bắt đầu bằng một topic sentence rõ ràng và phát triển theo mô hình PEEL.
1. Topic Sentence là gì?
Topic sentence là câu đầu tiên của đoạn thân bài, nêu luận điểm chính mà đoạn đó sẽ phát triển. Giám khảo đọc topic sentence để biết ngay đoạn văn nói về gì.
Công thức: Topic sentence = Luận điểm + Hướng phát triển

3. Mô hình PEEL chi tiết
Sau topic sentence, phát triển đoạn theo 3 bước còn lại:
E — Explain (Giải thích)
Giải thích tại sao luận điểm đúng. Mẫu câu:
- This is because…
- The reason for this is that…
- This means that…
E — Example (Dẫn chứng)
Đưa ví dụ cụ thể để minh họa. Mẫu câu:
- For example, … / For instance, …
- A clear example of this is…
- Research has shown that…
- According to a recent survey, …
L — Link (Liên hệ)
Kết nối lại luận điểm hoặc chuyển sang đoạn tiếp theo. Mẫu câu:

4. Ví dụ đoạn thân bài hoàn chỉnh
Đề bài: "Some people believe that children should start learning a foreign language at primary school. Do you agree or disagree?"
[P — Point] One compelling reason to introduce foreign languages at primary school is that young children have a natural ability to acquire languages more easily than adults. [E — Explain] This is because children's brains are highly adaptable during the early years, making it easier for them to absorb new sounds and grammatical structures. [E — Example] Research from Harvard University has shown that children who start learning a second language before the age of 10 are more likely to achieve native-like pronunciation. [L — Link] Therefore, starting language education early clearly maximises children's potential for fluency.

6. Lỗi thường gặp
- Không có topic sentence: Đoạn văn bắt đầu bằng ví dụ mà không nêu luận điểm.
- Topic sentence quá chung: "There are many advantages" — cần cụ thể hơn.
- Chỉ liệt kê: Liệt kê 3-4 ý mà không giải thích hoặc dẫn chứng cho ý nào.
- Dùng "Firstly, Secondly" trong cùng 1 đoạn: Mỗi đoạn chỉ 1 luận điểm chính.
